Cathy’s vision for Benchmark Atlantic Healthcare was for women to have a place available to them that was peaceful, calming, private and pretty, while being professionally fitted for their bras, breast forms and lymphedema compression garments following breast cancer surgery. In 2004, she earned both Board Certification as a Mastectomy Fitter by the Board of Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics (BOC) and a Registered Mastectomy Fitter with the American Board of Certification of Orthotics and Prosthetics (ABC). She also has been trained and certified as a Compression Therapy Advanced Fitter through the leading manufacturers of compression garments.

BOC Board Certified Breast Care Fitter  & Compression Therapy SPECIALIST

Chris has come to us with very much of both professional and personal experience in the field of cancer. Chris received her RN and BSN from the University of Illinois Chicago. She has been working in nursing since 1983 with her main focus in Oncology. She was co-creator of the Breast Cancer Support Group “H.O.P.E.” at Centegra Hospital. She is also a 38 year survivor of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and an 18 year survivor of breast cancer.

 She was a long time client of Benchmark Atlantic for her lymphedema compression sleeves before she joined our staff in 2018. In 2019 she earned both her Board Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics as a Mastectomy Fitter and has been trained and certified as a Compression Therapy Advanced Fitter.

Chris has a special gift of putting our clients at ease, by knowing that they are in the best hands possible to receive their medical garments. She has a way of making everyone feel that whatever it is they are facing, it is all significant and she truly cares about the whole person. We feel so fortunate to have Chris as part of our team.

Claudia Ovington

Certified Breast Care & COMPRESSION Fitter

Claudia was first a client at Benchmark’s and then became a staff member in 2013. She had helped manage a medical office for 20 years before her breast cancer diagnosis. Following surgery and treatment, she was frustrated with how her under garments were fitting and missed activities because she felt uncomfortable. Then she found Benchmark and was “pleasantly surprised at how quiet, beautiful and relaxing the shop was.” She met with Marcia, her Breast Care Fitter and they found the perfect solution, as well as becoming new friends, and immediately she felt like she had gained back her confidence. She was so impressed she asked for a job.

Because of her enthusiasm, love for life, and her intuitive insight and understanding, she has been a joy to our clients as well as our staff.  Claudia keeps us laughing. She has successfully completed her breast care fitting certifications. Her clients let us know how happy she has made them on a continual basis. Side note: Claudia seems to know just about everyone in town!

Lisa joined Benchmark Atlantic in 2010 after completing her Medical Billing Certificate Program.

With her 13 years of experience at Benchmark in the ever-changing medical insurance industry, paired with her exceptional competent and professional personality traits, Lisa is the ideal person to be handling the insurance end of the business for our clients. She is a true advocate on behalf of our clients that assures them they are receiving what their insurance benefits allow while navigating them through the process. You are lucky when you have Lisa on your side!
